Church Trends One SITE for Your PCUSA Data

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you create Church Trends?

Church Trends came about when the server that housed Ten-Year Trends and Comparative Statistics reached the end of its usable life and had to be replaced. The Church Trend tables are designed to illustrate trends and provide comparisons.

Why not keep the data as it was in the Ten-Year Trends and Comparative Statistics?

Church Trends’ tables reflect the data requests received by Research Services since 2014. Also, the reports provide more information than what was previously available.

What if I need more data?

Research Services team members are ready to assist you with your additional data requests. Research Services can be reached by email: research@pcusa.org or by phone: 1-800-728-7228, ext. 5077.

What is the source of the congregational data?

The Session Annual Statistical Report (SASR) is currently the source for all congregational data. The SASR data is uploaded directly into the Church Trends’ database.

The data for my congregation are not correct. How can it be corrected?

Mistakes happen when data is entered on the Session Annual Statistical Report.  Contact Research Services by email: church-trends@pcusa.org to revise your congregation’s data. Please include what is to be changed and the correct information.  Changing Church Trends does not update PC(USA)’s official records. Please contact the Office of the General Assembly by email to learn how to revise your congregation’s official record: OGARecords@pcusa.org
